## What is Streaming?

**Money streaming** is the concept of real-time continuous money flows. It was coined by *Andreas Antonopoulos* in 2017 (watch his talk [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=1050\&v=gF_ZQ_eijPs\&feature=youtu.be)). Just as streaming changed how we interact and experience music and videos, so too will streaming forever change how we interact with money. 

For example, why are salaries paid in monthly intervals? This is because micro-payments by the second weren't possible in the early banking system. With money streaming, contributors and employees can earn **by the second** as they work. 

When using a `continuous stream` instead of a `discrete transaction`, a new era of highly capital-efficient yet composable financial primitives and tools is ushered in.
